![]() Paste the error messages in a reply here. After the upload fails you'll see a button on the " Upload error" notification at the bottom right corner of the IDE window: COPY ERROR MESSAGES.Select Sketch > Upload from the Arduino IDE menus.Check the box next to Show verbose output during > ☐ upload.Uncheck the box next to Show verbose output during: > ☑ compilation.Select File > Preferences from the Arduino IDE menus. In order to gather more information that might help us to troubleshoot your problem, I'm going to ask you to provide the full output from the upload when in verbose mode. So make sure to always do a " Burn Bootloader" operation before you switch back to attempting normal " Upload" operations after using " Upload Using Programmer". The error you are getting is expected when attempting a normal " Upload" operation to a board without a bootloader. Something you should be careful about is that when you do an " Upload Using Programmer" operation, the bootloader is erased. Using a ISP (with the same USB cable to it) allows me to upload and flash code/bootloader My report contains all necessary details.I verified the problem still occurs when using the latest nightly build. ![]() I searched for previous reports in the issue tracker. The code should be uploaded to the Arduino Nano successfully. Get error: avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding.Attempt to upload blink example (or any other code).Select /dev/cu.usbserial-AXXXXXXX device.Connect Arduino Nano to Mac Studio (M1 Max).My Uno R3 works perfectly and does not have this issue (comes up as /dev/cu.usbmodem101), as it uses a programmable ATMega 16U2 for UART instead of the FTDI IC. Using the SparkFun tinyISP I am able to flash via avrdude -c usbtiny -p atmega328p -b 57600 -U "flash:w:$1".ĮDIT: After more testing I have determined it likely is the FT232RL UART chip in the Nano. It seems to be related to the Apple Silicon and UART. It is a genuine Nano and I have multiple that I have all tried, including flashing new bootloaders via ISP. I just cannot flash directly to the Nano. Interestingly enough, using a ISP (with the same USB cable to it) allows me to upload and flash code/bootloader. The same error persists and the Nano does not seem to be responding. I have tried using different cables, Arduino Nanos, and even avrdude directly via CLI.
